Birmingham Heritage Week - 8th - 18th September 2016

Birmingham Heritage Week is an event to showcase Birmingham's social, cultural and industrial heritage. It will consist of over 90 coordinated events to be held at heritage sites, museums, libraries and other venues across the city. It will take place from Thursday 8th – Sunday 18th September 2016.

One of the key objectives of the week is to encourage local communities and visitors alike to explore the city's historical venues and take part in a series of engaging activities which will highlight the rich and diverse history of Birmingham.

The Birmingham Heritage Week programme will include: guided walks, performances, talks, trails, exhibitions, exclusive access to notable buildings, workshops for children etc. There will be a mixture of charged and free events.

The event coincides with the UK's largest heritage festival; Heritage Open Days, which runs from Thursday 8th – Sunday 11th September.
